Kubera: Season 2, Chapter 38

Thanks for your patience, everyone! Enjoy!
On another note, as of right now, we’re in need of a cleaner for Kubera. Basically, someone who’s able to produce fast, high-quality cleans every week (and by fast, I mean completed cleans within 12-24 hours of the raw release). A more detailed note on the requirements will be in the next chapter, but I thought I’d put it out there now, so anyone who might be interested will be aware of it.

Well, looks like we found ourselves a cleaner ^^

  1. Finally! After seeing this chapter at naver I got really excited how things will going on! Thank You very much:D

  2. Yeeees thank you so much! Awesome chapter! πŸ˜€ Wow, you require the raws to be cleaned quite fast, especially considering that the Raws come out on a Monday. D: White bubbles should be easy to do, but don’t the sound effects and color bubbles take longer?

    1. Yes, unforunately the cleaning burden for Kubera is different from our other series, in the way that we work with it is quite different. Translations are done directly onto the PSDs, so until we have cleans for a chapter, the entire production is stalled. :< SFX and transparent bubbles do take a bit longer to do, but thankfully Kubera doesn't have a ton of huge intimidating battle SFX every week (much like ToG-- talk about scary to clean! xD), so it typically doesn't take as long in that regard.

      1. How long does it normally take to clean a chapter of kubera?
I’ll try cleaning one tomorrow just to see how fast I can do it. If I can do it fast then I guess I can do it most weeks.

        1. The average chapter takes me about 2, maybe 3 hours to clean (including merging the smaller pages into 4-5 longer strips). Though, cleaning time probably differs from person to person; it all depends on the pace you’re comfortable/confident with. πŸ™‚

        2. Ok. I cleaned the next chapter in a bit more than 1 hour. The only thing I couldn’t clean is the one where the castle is shaking. Everything else was cleaned, redrawn when needed and merged (6 psds, each with 5 pages merged together).

      2. …. Oh. Translations are done directly onto PSDs. I thought it was done in parallel. Well, what if some cleaners with less experience start with the white bubbles, so the translations can start with those, while the more experienced cleaners fix the SFX and colored bubbles?

I don’t have Photoshop unfortunately, but it should probably be much easier for you to recruit if you divide the tasks: those with less experience handle the easy bubbles, those with more experience have less overall work to worry about, and both groups get more sleep.

        1. I was thinking the same thing Mizura.

You could have a less experienced cleaner who gets the raws and cleans the text bubbles/relatively easy stuff, and have the experienced member do the more advanced redrawing/etc.

Might help prevent the cleaners from burning out.

        2. Sorry if I sound rude, but that’s a pretty weird way to work. Can’t the translation be done in a separate document and then copy and paste the sentences in the PSDs?

    1. It’s one of the golden knight’s abilities. It’s said when the abilities are explained and she used it when fighting yuta’s mother as well.
